As the Chief of Police, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our newly designed website. Our team has put in a tremendous amount of effort to ensure that this platform provides easy access to important information and tools to better serve our community.
The La Verne Police Department is dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone. Our agency is comprised of 45 sworn officers, 27 professional staff members, a Reserve Officer force of up to 25, and 26 dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to uphold our mission of protecting and serving our community with integrity, professionalism, and respect.

La Verne Police Department Receives Traffic Safety Grant
We are grateful to be awarded a $65,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety to support traffic safety and enforcement through September 2026. This funding strengthens our efforts to reduce serious injuries and fatalities on La Verne roads through education, enforcement and community outreach.
With this grant, our efforts will include:
• DUI checkpoints and DUI patrols
• Distracted driving enforcement
• Operations focused on the safety of people walking and biking
• Enforcement of violations that cause crashes such as speeding and red-light running
• Community traffic safety presentations
• Collaborative operations with neighboring agencies
• Training and recertification for officers
Funding is provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Overnight Parking Permit Renewals!
As we prepare for the annual renewal window, we are launching a new initiative to make the process more convenient for residents, offering special Saturday Permit Renewal ONLY hours from 9:00am - 1:00pm on the following dates:
🗓️ December 13
🗓️ January 3
🗓️ January 24
No appointments, walk-in only.
Renewal applications may be found in our bio and completed ahead of time to streamline the process even further.
Reminder: We will not be enforcing the overnight Parking Restriction from December 22nd - January 4th. Enforcement will resume at 2:00am on Monday, January 5th.
Today during our Lights & Sirens Toy Drive collection event at Target, our community showed their true holiday spirit, donating NINE boxes of toys in just 3 hours!
The toys were then delivered to our incredible partners at Hillcrest, where they will be sorted and stored until the distribution day.
