Press Release Rodeo Jewelers

Jul 1, 2025

La Verne, CA- Sunday, June 29, shortly after 10:00 p.m., multiple suspects attempted to access Rodeo Jewelers, located at 1560 Foothill Blvd., by cutting a hole through the roof.

La Verne Police Department Detectives and Officers had received information that suspects from another jewelry store burglary that occurred on May 27th, in the city of Glendale, were preparing to target Rodeo Jewelers. In a coordinated surveillance operation with detectives from allied agencies and the assistance from the Glendora and Claremont Police Departments, and the San Dimas Sheriff’s Station, seven suspects were
taken into custody.

The suspects were found in possession of cellphone signal jammers, devices commonly used to disrupt alarms and communication during criminal activity. They are believed to be connected to a series of similar burglaries across Los Angeles County.

Before attempting to enter the business, the suspects intentionally severed a fiber optic cable, resulting in widespread internet outages affecting over 1 million Spectrum, Frontier, and Verizon customers in the region.

In La Verne, damages were limited to infrastructure—estimated at $50,000 for the fiber optic cable and $1,000 to the roof of the business.

The suspects were booked at the Glendale Police Department, which has issued an official press release available on its website.
